KRUUSE PD-X Suture is a synthetic, absorbable, monofilament, sterile suture composed of polydioxanone. Available dyed violet.
Complete mass absorption in 180-220 days (approximately 75% of original tensile strength remains 14 days after implantation, 65% of original tensile strength remains 28 days after implantation, and 50% of original tensile strength remains 42 days after implantation).
Indications
KRUUSE PD-X is commonly used in soft tissues and ligation where absorbable sutures are indicated, including:
■ Ductus ligation
■ Gynaecology and obstretics
■ GI surgery
■ Facia approximation
■ Joint capsula closure
■ Ligament ligation
■ Linia alba
■ Urological surgery
Contraindications
This suture, being absorbable, should not be used where prolonged (beyond 6 weeks) approximation of tissues under stress is required and is not to be used in conjunction with prosthetic devices, for example, heart valves or synthetic grafts.
Range
■ USP 7-0 to 2
■ EP 0.5 to 5
